We’re thrilled to announce that Julie Verdon has joined the Maker Town team as our Community Engagement Manager. Julie comes to us with 25 years of experience in the maker movement, where she provided important contributions to several arts based enterprises both locally and nationally.
A longtime leader, entrepreneur, and arts advocate, Julie will continue to bridge connections between maker businesses and local consumers who love handmade goods. She’ll be reaching out to artists, gallery owners and event planners across Northeast Ohio to learn about their companies and help them become more visible to the public though the Maker Town™ App, the Maker Town™ Markets, and the Maker Town partnerships with media outlets and community organizations.
Prior to joining the Maker Town team, Julie led business initiatives and managed retail operations for enterprises like Ten Thousand Villages US, Cleveland International Film Festival, Cleveland Museum of Art, and RampArts Gallery inside 78th Street Studios.
“Artists and makers do so much to bring beauty and joy to our community. I am so thrilled to join Maker Town and be able to offer a new and innovative way to spotlight the incredible talent that exists here for art patrons to easily discover,” says Julie.
As the Maker Town organization grows, Julie’s in-depth management skills and first hand experience operating arts-based retail venues will play a key role in helping Maker Town serve hundreds more artisan entrepreneurs across Ohio. To learn how your business or event can benefit from Maker Town’s innovative mobile technology and outdoor weekly markets, please reach out to Julie at julie@makertownusa.com.
