Nothing is more inspiring than creative people living out their dreams! If you haven’t been to Wild Iris Home in Avon, OH, you’re missing out.
The Ohio maker movement has expanded into Cleveland’s deep west side where a dynamic family is redefining the retail experience. With a background in styling homes and interior design, Ashley Barnett curates an inspiring and accessible collection of home artifacts with her mother, Sheri Seroka. Textiles, pottery, plants and more are all mindfully presented on handcrafted furniture — some made by Kyle Barnett, Ashley’s husband.
There are dozens of dreamy vignettes around the store. Kyle’s one-of-a-kind tables are true statement pieces made from vintage industrial materials under his brand, Cool Hand Crafted adding an authentic and historic vibe to the place.
Wild Iris Home oozes with organic and aged materials, earth toned accessories, and gobs of rustic modern style. It’s a multi-sensory experience that’s so easy on the eyes you’ll feel like you’ve walked into wonderland for your well-being. Even better that it’s part of a collection of shops with a public patio near a renovated barn from 1851 that’s home to Strip Steakhouse.
Why has being involved in Maker Town been meaningful to the Barnetts?
“We see Maker Town as a way to promote our business. We’ve been at the popup markets handing out business cards, but it’ll be a month later when a customer calls. Next thing you know I’m building a custom island in their home, while Ashely is staging the rest of their house.”
